bahkan dalam kelabu
kala senja menutupi langitku yang biru
dan awan datang menghampiri
gentar aku tidak.
karena yakin ku mengatakan
bahkan dibalik langit kelam ku....
Ada senyum mu.

At times you’re consoled, and at other times you console others...
Around subuh this morning I got a phone call from my friend, a phone call I had anticipated from late last night as he was updating me on the situation at home, his father had been pretty ill these past few weeks, and last night it got worse.
But that phone call this morning had news I had not really anticipated...,
his father passed away....
Mr. Hasjim Aldjoeffry was a really wonderful and very kind man. If you had the opportunity to meet him, I’m sure you’d like him, just like I did.
"Innalillahi Wa innaa ilaihi Raaji'un"
[To Allah we belong and to Him we shall return]
May his dad be granted with Jannah, and may the Almighty grant him ease and comfort in his eternal abode and give strength and fortitude to the bereaved family to bear this immense loss.
QS: Al Baqarah: 155-156
"Be sure we shall test you with something of fear and hunger, some loss in goods or lives or the fruits (of your toil), but give glad tidings to those who patiently persevere. Who say, when afflicted with calamity: "To Allah we belong, and to Him is our return".

sometimes you just need a reason to be lazy....
.....and often times, life gives you just that.

[trying to wake up and smell the coffee....]
Definitely one of my favorit songs....
You Gotta Be
Des'ree
Listen as your day unfolds
Challenge what the future holds
Try and keep your head up to the sky
Lovers, they may cause you tears
Go ahead release your fears
Stand up and be counted
Don't be ashamed to cry
You gotta be
You gotta be bad, you gotta be bold
You gotta be wiser, you gotta be hard
You gotta be tough, you gotta be stronger
You gotta be cool, you gotta be calm
You gotta stay together
All I know, all I know, love will save the day
Herald what your mother said
Readin' the books your father read
Try to solve the puzzles in your own sweet time
Some may have more cash than you
Others take a different view
My oh my heh, hey
You gotta be bad, you gotta be bold
You gotta be wiser, you gotta be hard
You gotta be tough, you gotta be stronger
You gotta be cool, you gotta be calm
You gotta stay together
All I know, all I know, love will save the day
Don't ask no questions, it goes on without you
Leaving you behind if you can't stand the pace
The world keeps on spinning
You can't stop it, if you try to
This time it's danger staring you in the face
Oh oh oh Remember
Listen as your day unfolds
Challenge what the future holds
Try and keep your head up to the sky
Lovers, they may cause you tears
Go ahead release your fears
My oh my heh, hey, hey
You gotta be
You gotta be bad, you gotta be bold
You gotta be wiser, you gotta be hard
You gotta be tough, you gotta be stronger
You gotta be cool, you gotta be calm
You gotta stay together
All I know, all I know, love will save the day
You gotta be bad, you gotta be bold
You gotta be wiser, you gotta be hard
You gotta be tough, you gotta be stronger
You gotta be cool, you gotta be calm
You gotta stay together
All I know, all I know, love will save the day
Yup, you just gotta be...

[trying to be...]
[tunes]
Have been on a getaway for some time from the net...trying to find some peace of mind.
And, now I’m back.
The last couple of months have been rather interesting if not crazy.
Been home, and now back again. Had lost loves ones, and found who my true friends really are.
Life has been quite complicated yet at the same time more manageable than ever.
Basically I’m taking some time off, doing some research and other stuff. Some job opportunities are waiting (hopefully still will be) until I get back home.
Rest assured, I’ve ‘grown up’ so much and learned a lot more than I think I ever had in these past few months.
Yes, life is great.
Some interesting encounters:
- Met up with my lovable lovable nephew who I haven’t seen in around 3 months (and now missing to see the other one who just got back in town). The little fellow has grown quite big now (carrying him around would be an exercise of its own...no offense dear darling, Auntie prefers to do other sports :) and talking quite a load, definitley much more vocabulary than before; mixed in three languages :P
- My grandma came to town, which actually was one of the reasons I postponed my trip to visit my kampong in Aceh. Was delighted to see her, definitely.
- Had a very very minor eye surgery. That was pretty okay, the not-so-okay part was that I had to actually visit 3 not-so-great eye specialists in 2 countries (well, yes, only Indonesia and Singapore, but still...:P) before I finally got a doctor who gave me a proper examination and treatment plus explanation and get real results (frankly I was surprised the one in Spore was pretty bad, since she was the first one i consulted with and getting an appointment with her was pretty troublesome). One doctor (before my final doctor) had even suggested to have the eye surgery right there and then, without even looking at my eyes first. Talking about too much confidence....
Eventhough I still ended up having surgery, the last doctor was patient enough to give medicated treatments, and really explained the whole thing. So, when we finally decided to take the surgery, I atleast knew my chances and options.
Well, though minor, having a local anaesthesia was certainly something more than I could imagine. Yes, I suggested for a total one (you can imagine the doctors face when I asked that), but then tried to round up some courage (I convinced my self it would be just like a facial...well, lets just say...it was TOTALLY not), and finally got it over with. No details about the horror-ness of having your eyes poked while you sense them doing it...ewww...I’m just trying to pretend having amnesia on that :)
- Had this really really interesting job interview. Actually what was funny about it was that I didn't know it would be an interview. I was invited to come to this office and wasn’t very clear what the agenda was about. Somebody had referred me to this person, and they contacted me to drop by their office. Luckily I had this sudden ‘intuition’ while I was entering the front gate ‘oh my, what if its an interview, I am sooo not prepared’. So what happened was, the receptionist when greeted, automatically gave me this ‘please fill in the CV-kind of form sheet while you wait for your interview’. I was like, huh? So, I just played along. The thing was, I was supposed to meet some person before actually meeting with the one that invited me (hope you're not lost in the details... :). Turns out this someone was the HR lady (I think) and had all sorts of questions for me, such as ‘tell me about yourself, how do you see yourself in 3-5 years, etc.’ Apparently they wanted to offer me a position as X in their company (I of course only knew about this from her). Now the funniest thing was that almost at the end of the ‘discussion’ this lady then suddenly asked me ‘So...why exactly do you want to be become X *the position, that is*?’ I was like...’huh?’ But of course, after like a split second of amazement (I think she felt as awkward, having to ask the question) I answered it smoothly (I think less tense and less expectation is always good, heck I had NO expectation...I didn’t even know what was going to happen hehehe). Anyway, we’ll see what happens with that :)
- And some other stuff I guess I’d rather tell in person :)
So, here’s to living life, and taking a pinch of salt with some bits you hadn’t really expect coming ;)
Cheers!
